Where's the Rain?

A couple of years ago, my daughter wanted rain boots and we got her these for Christmas...

They're adorable and we thought she'd like them but we under estimated how much. She wears them every chance she can and even coordinates her outfits with them. She has fun walking in puddles. They work great at keeping her feet dry.

I've realized how nice they are when we've been out running errands in the rain. I dodge puddles to try and keep my feet dry and she just walks along, dry and happy. So, I've been on the lookout for some of my own. They're not that easy to find in Southern California but last week I got lucky and found these...

I think they're cute and I can't wait to wear them. We've had a lot more rain than usual this year and there was rain in the forecast for last weekend. So, I thought I'd get to try them out very soon. But, it only rained in the middle of the night on Saturday. Since then it's just been dry, cold and cloudy.

But, I'll keep waiting...I'm excited to go dancing through the puddles in my new boots! I might have to wait until next winter...but that's ok, I'll be ready!

The red lover in me really really loves your daughter's boots! Your story of new boots but only midnight rainshowers reminds me of my fourth birthday when I received a shiny red raincoat that I loved. My birthday was on a sunny and very warm Sunday that year but I insisted on wearing the raincoat, all done up to church that morning. As the sweat rolled down the inside of my coat because I would not take it off, even inside, I remember thinking "its raining inside my coat!"

I secretly want some rain boots too! (I have tons of other waterproof footwear. I'm the queen of Goretex.)

I just awarded you the Kreativ Blogger award here. Love your blog!

My sister gave me a great turquoise paisley pair about a year ago... I've been able to wear them maybe 3 times since then. But I just heard we're in for a really wet spring due to El Nino.

I'll have to try and post a picture of my boots - black with giant white and yellow daisies...

Love the boots, Taylor wants a pair of lime green boots. If I can find them, she'll get them... not that she would ever ware them. It was the shawl that I read last, didn't see this till tonight.
