I want to say, "thank you" for the comments ya'll left for me on my last post...and every post. They mean so much to me. They warm my heart, make me feel like I'm not alone, that other people understand and are going through similar situations, and add extra brightness to my day. There sure are wonderful people out here in blogland! :-D
I got a lot done at my parents' over those couple of days. Enough of the necessary stuff was moved so they would be able to comfortably start staying at the new place. And, I had enough stuff cleared to make way for the furniture mover to come in yesterday and do his job. He'll be back today to finish up.
It wasn't an easy task. My mom seems to be a collector of everything...even things that many of us would consider to be trash or throw into our recycle bins. And, she wasn't interested in even considering parting with a single thing. Combine that with the fact that she hadn't even attempted to start packing before the move and that she tends to walk around looking dazed and confused made it even more challenging. I had to just take charge and get stuff done. I tried to gently lead her into things to do. But, even that became challenging as she'd have little tantrums (like a child) and say, "I don't want to do that!". Ugh! But, I kept plowing ahead, moving all I could, even trash! I'm hoping that I'll be able to finish clearing and cleaning up their old place next week. Wish me luck!
I had a nice break yesterday. My mother-in-law and I went to see my daughter perform in a harp ensemble concert and have lunch. The concert was awesome! Especially when the three harps were playing "Carol of the Bells"! Oh my gosh! It was so incredible...it made me cry! And, of course, it's always great to spend some time with her and my mother-in-law too. Here's picture I took with my phone.... That's my daughter playing the harp in the middle.
Well, I'm off again in a few minutes for a busy morning. But, I have my afternoon free (Wow!) and I'm planning to take some photos for blogging so I can catch up even more. Have a wonderful day! And, thanks for stopping by! :-)
