Sheesh! Everytime I think I'm about to get back on track with blogging and creating and everything else, life continues to be crazy busy. Maybe this is the new normal? I guess I'd better figure out how to work with it to still get some of these things back in my life. I actually have some stuff to blog about but this is about all the blogging I have time for right now.
I'm about to head back over to my parents' house to help them move. It's a much bigger job than I had anticipated. I went over yesterday to help clean at their new house and move some things for them. It turned out they hadn't packed a thing! So, it turned into an all day event and an all day today event. And, probably into next week since the rest of my week is full and I won't be able to help them again until then. My mom continually seems lost with what to do next and my dad doesn't have much strength or energy to do very much. Oh...and...they have a LOT of stuff! So, I have to take charge to get stuff done and work as fast as I can. Especially today because rain is in the forecast for today. Luckily, it's sunny right now. I'd better get going! Wish me luck!
Have a terrific Tuesday! :-)

What a massive project! I can easily understand how your parents can be overwhelmed by the size of this job, but wow, are they lucky to have your help! Good luck!
My sister bought me out of my parents' house rather than clean it out. They were the ultimate hoarders.
We did our kids a favor by downsizing and getting rid of a lot of stuff. It is such a hard thing to move older parents because they want to keep everything and it is totally understandable.
Hang in there with their move.
I think it is normal so learn to work with it and not to fight the current! I have wonderful days of down time followed by a few weeks of frenzy! Hope the move goes well!
Try not to do too much or you will make yourself ill! easier said tan done I know, moving is always a stressful time but to be moving at this time of the year is even worse, Good luck I'm sure your parents are more than grateful for everything you are doing for them. :)
We'll wait for you Cheryl. :) Enjoy your time with your parents. :)
I am so sorry this has all fallen on you, especially this time of year. Hang in there and take good care of yourself.
Hugs,
Meredith
Moving is one of those things that just grows into two hundred times its original size! And I DO think that crazy is the new normal...
I understand exactly what you're feeling. I helped my parents pack (and clear out junk) from one huge house to move into a house about a quarter of the size. Ridiculous undertaking. Then that tiny house had to be cleared out completely two years later ... no fun. How fortunate that you ARE able to help your parents. My mom was so appreciative of all the help she received - it really was something completely beyond their strength, both emotionally & physically. Keep chugging along ... there is a day when it all is behind you and you can enjoy your time again. Hopefully sooner than later ... Wendy xox
It's not just older folks. My husband and I spent every Saturday and Sunday, ten hours a day, for a month, helping his best friend move. Sometimes, there ISN"T a best place to start. Grab a box and a garbage bag, pick a storage closet and be decisive. Some one has to be.
I know the feeling. I haven't blogged since August and people are starting to leave comments like "where are you?"
(I like to wait until I get a "Hellllloooo!)
Good luck with your projects, mine are kicking my butt.
