Blossom Bonanza

The Orchid Tree in our front yard has exploded with blossoms this year.
We've never seen so many flowers on it.  The scent of the orchids and the Hawthorn
flowers below smell really nice whenever we come and go from our front door.

They're a treat for the eyes too.  So pretty!

One of our neighbors has an orchid tree and all the blossoms on it are white.
All of ours have pink on them.  Some are mostly pink...

And, some are lighter.  But, all are gorgeous.  I love them!

I'd never seen a tree like this until we moved here years ago.
It almost died a couple times during cold winters but pulled through.
It has a weird shape and even leans.  But, we wouldn't want to cut it down
because of the amazing flowers.  The leaves are pretty too.  They're almost heart shaped.

One of the amazing and beautiful treats of spring!

Ahh, a delight for the eyes! The orchid trees are all lilac here in my part of Florida!

Flowering trees seem a thing of the distant future here in New England. We still have slow-melting piles of snow on the ground! Thanks for the eye candy. I know spring will come soon.

Never hear of an orchid tree. And it's fragrant, too? What a treat!

That is a gorgeous tree! I don't think we have orchid trees here (well if they don't survive cold winters, definitely not!). The blossoms are beautiful ... especially in that last photo. How nice to have the perfume greet you when you come home :) Wendy x

I've never heard of an orchid tree, but it looks fabulous! And aromatic as well? Bonus!
We're had a couple of warmer days recently, so even though there is still patchy snow and ice, it seems mud season is almost here. The sight of new growth will be very welcome!
