I just finished crocheting a shawl that's pink, fluffy, and light like cotton candy.
It's so delicate and pretty! Here it is worn bandanna style...
And, a more traditional shawl style...
So light and airy.
I used the South Bay Shawlette pattern that I've used many times.
The mohair in the Crystal Palace Kid Merino yarn transforms it and creates a very different look.
I used a size "G" crochet hook. Crocheting with this yarn was a challenge whenever I had to rip back. The yarn tends to lock itself together and pulling stitches out sometimes seems impossible.
I had to rip back a few times because of silly mistakes. I was worried a couple of times that I wouldn't be able to pull it back to the mistake. Luckily, I was able to...with lots of patience.
This was a fun project because of the results and that I was able to de-stash two balls of yarn!
However, I won't want to wear it because of the mohair. It's a little itchy to me.
So, I will need to find a home for this beauty. If anyone is interested in buying this, let me know.
I won't be charging much for it. I'd just like to find someone who will enjoy it. :-)

It's lovely! Like a pink cloud...
A very pretty shawl. I tried knitting a lace pattern with similar yarn, but when I had to rip back ... well, it just didn't happen and I threw 2 feet of lace scarf in the garbage in frustration. I wonder if there's a course for knitting-anger management ;) Wendy x
Beautiful shawl, the colour is so pretty. I am the same as you unable to wear natural yarns, such a shame. Hope you are able to find a new home for it.
It looks like a pattern I made once, but have missed placed. Very pretty.
very beautiful
Hmm, delicious! I love the shawlettes better than full size. This is perfect!
Frothy is the first word I thought of when I saw it. Someone is going to have a lovely shawlette.
That is gorgeous...such a pretty shade of color! You did a beautiful job of it. We don't wear many scarves here in Florida but it looks lightweight and airy. Very nice my friend! Happy May!
That is very beautiful. If you want the same effect, try 50% alpaca/50% silk. And it's soft!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
It is very pretty but I know without a doubt I would not have been able to crochet with that yarn and come out with anything quite so lovely. In fact, I probably wouldn't have been able to rip it back nicely and then I would have cut the yarn and tossed it to the side never to be looked at again. Ha! Good for you on finishing! Best wishes, Tammy
Very pretty pattern! I've been told that if you have to rip back that kind of "sticky" yarn, putting it in the freezer for a while makes it "unlock" more easily. Haven't had to try it myself since getting that tip, but worth a try if the situation arises again! :)
This is gorgeous! I have yet to finish a shawl project. Nicely done! Aloha
