Woolly Acorns

It's no secret that I love acorns.  They come from such awesome trees.  And, they're so cute!
I started needle felting some a while back and made a few more this week...

I thought it would be fun to make some in bright, fun colors.
Even the caps are needle felted.  I made the little stems by hand-twisting
a bit of the wool into yarn and needle felting it into place.

I'm not sure what to do with them though, other than take a photo.
If I leave them out, my kitty will play with them and my dog may eat them.
I really need to get some of those cute glass domes so I can display stuff like this.

Beautiful! I like acorns, too-I have some pretty wooden ones I bought a long time ago in a gift store-1 for each of my four children. I liked the the thought of the potential locked in an acorn...locked in each child.

A glass dome would be a great idea-they wouldn't last long in my house either except as cat toys!

They are so cute... I've never tried needle felting, guess that is something else to add to the list! LOL! Yes, my kitty would think they were made for his personal amusement as well. What about as an accent to a hand knitted blanket or for a little embellishment to a felted pocket book OR you could make some felted book marks and add a few of the acorns onto ribbon or such for the part that dangles out of the book. Just thinking out loud! :D
Is needle felting easy to learn and is the equipment expensive?
Enjoy your day my sweet blogging sister!

They are adorable! I have the same problem with keeping trinkets safe from my cats - they are even opening the high cabinet doors now! Nothing is sacred or safe.

These are really cute! I like acorns too and use the caps for tiny doll hats. What about making a wreath and adding them to that? Wendy

Those acorns are too cute to not leave out. They will look nice on a Thanksgiving table.

They are gorgeous! I think Jingles would have a good time batting one of those around the living room. :) Tammy

They would be splendid on a wreath or used to decorate a present. The bright colors are so cheery!
