I've been working on and off on this pair of socks for a long time.
I was surprised at how long when I updated my project notes on Ravelry.
It turns out that I started these in July of 2011! Sheesh! It's about time I finished them!
They're just a basic pair of socks knitted with size two double point needles. Nothing fancy.
I originally bought the yarn for a crochet shawl but the colors pooled in ways that didn't look good.
Knitting seems to be a much better match for this colorway of Zitron Trekking XXL yarn.
I love the colors and I finished them just in time for the wintery weather we're having this week.
I think this yarn would look great as a Sockhead Hat like the one I made HERE.
I have almost half a skein left. Time to weigh it and the hat I made before and see if it's possible!
Maybe a less slouchy version. :-)

I love these socks and the colors are fantastic. Great job. You have really inspired me this evening and I went and downloaded the pattern for the hat. I have some sock yarn that I could use. Will have to pick up the right size circular and double pointed needles before I start though.
Enjoy them, they look great! I love that sockhead hat, I made one a few years ago and it is so light! and yet warm.

I think you're right about that yarn and that hat but they are great as socks!
Finished is always cause for celebration! I think they are a great color!
The colors look like you. One less UFO!
your socks are awesome! I don't worry about timelines anymore-as long as there is a finish-enjoy those warm socks Kathy
wintry weather? Really? shall we compare? :)
It's actually not that bad around here right now, but November is around the corner!
And I haven't started wearing socks yet - I'm holding off as long as possible!
Oh, those are so fun. I have only knitted Christmas stockings. Maybe I should give knitted socks a try. I will check out Ravelry.
I love finishing a long awaited project!! Great socks!
Great socks! Half a skein left? I'd use it for stripes in a black hat.
Yay, a finished UFO! We've both been getting some things done lately! They look great. Now if only it would cool off again.
