A Day Out With Bucky Merino

My friend Judy (author of the blog, "Ordinary but Interesting") has a visitor.  His name is Bucky Merino. Who is Bucky Merino and why is he visiting?  He's an adorable hand knitted puppet that Roxie (author of the blog, "Sanna's Bag") sent down for a visit.  He wanted to see Southern California.  And, Judy was kind enough to let me join in on the fun.  

Judy and Bucky picked me up early last Saturday morning for our big day out!  We started at the Temecula Farmer's Market for breakfast (mmmm...fresh crepes made before our eyes with yummy, fresh ingredients and fresh squeezed orange juice....YUMMMM!).  Then, we wandered around the shops of Old Town and stopped for some coffee and knitting/crochet time (and, to cool down because it was super hot and humid that day...whew!). Then, we were off for some wine tasting.  After all, Temecula is the official wine country area of Southern California!

We ended our day at Oak Mountain Winery.  It's a smaller winery and 

off the beaten path of all the BIG ones.  We really enjoyed the wide open spaces, 

the lack of crowds, the delicious wines, and the magnificent views.

We found our way out onto a shady veranda where there were only two other people.

I could have sat there for hours drinking wine, relaxing and taking in the views of the 

surrounding hills and the ever changing sky as storms built up over the desert.

Bucky's adorable!  I've got to find a pattern and make a little cousin for Bucky!  We had so much fun taking him places and posing him for photos.  The ideas of places to go and things to do while he was here were endless. But, you can only do so much in one day.  I hope he enjoyed his visit as much as we enjoyed having him.  Keep an eye out on Judy's blog for the fun and adorable photos of Bucky and his big day out!
