New Yarn!

My sweet daughter was in Utah last week to help run a harp camp in Park City.
While she was there, she found a yarn shop and popped in to buy me a little something.
What a sweetheart!  I feel so loved!  :-)

In the many times we've been to Utah I've never found a yarn shop.
As far as I can tell there aren't any in Southern Utah.  I guess one just needs to go further north!

She found a shop in Salt Lake City with a very cool name...Blazing Needles.
They wrapped her purchase in tissue and sealed it with a little sticker...

She bought me two skeins of Malabrigo lace weight yarn in the colors
Stonechat (the multi) and Sealing Wax (red).  Reds are so hard to photograph.
This time I took some with my regular camera and some with my phone and Instagram.
The Instagram photo won with colors closest to what they really are.
The reds are actually more like a deep, burnt orange...perfect Utah colors.
And, I love the bits of green in the multi...like the trees in Utah.  So pretty.

I'll be on the search for the perfect, lacy pattern for my loving yarn gift.
All 970 yards of it!  :-)

  3. Ahhhh Malabrigo! such a fine yarn to work with. Great color combo as well. Reds are hard to photograph but it is hard to go wrong with that color.

  4. What a darling daughter!
mmmmmmalabrigo...so luscious. I considered Stonechat for a project a while back, because there is an intriguing range of examples on rav. Can't wait to see yours!

  5. How thoughtful of her! What beautiful yarn - and even more special because of the person who picked it out!

  6. You're a lucky Mama, indeed! I love yarn shops, even though I don't do much crocheting or knitting. It's just something about how warm and cozy the yarn makes you feel....and to know that you can make something with it from your very own hands. If I were you, I would keep your daughter. LOL!

Thanks for popping over for a visit and commenting about my bike wreck. My advice would be to get extremely comfortable riding your bike before going on a group ride. There is so much you have to pay attention to. It won't take long. Group rides can be very enjoyable. My husband loves them. Have fun!

  8. A delightful time to be in Park City... much cooler than here in the valley... although today it has cooled down considerably. There are several artisans here who spin their own yarn and sell in boutiques and Summer Farmer's Markets.
