Our new baby, bundle of fur and cuteness has arrived!
We just picked her up from the local shelter yesterday.
She's only about eight weeks old and oh-so-cute!
Meet Penelope...
The best time to get photos is when she's sleeping.
Otherwise, she ends up looking like a gray, white and pink blur
because she's always moving. Hard to believe from these photos.
So many adorable little, pink toes!
Her feet are so small. Here's her front foot all stretched out under my thumb.
She only weights 2 3/4 pounds.
It's amazing how much personality fits into this one, tiny kitten.
She's happy, easy going, playful, loving, brave, smart and funny.
She even thinks she can fly! She jumps all the way down to the floor from
the top of her kitty tree (about 5 feet tall), from the sofa to the top of the tree,
and makes huge leaps in the air as she chases feathery toys.
She spreads her arms out as she leaps as if they were wings.
She plays so much that she needs lots of naps.
She tries to stay awake as long as she can though.
She doesn't want to miss anything!
Uh oh...her eyes are getting heavy!
Time for another nap.
Oh my gosh, Penelope is so precious! So kittens have kitten breath like puppies have puppy breath? I'm allergic to cats so I can't get that close to find out.....sure wish we could have cats in addition to dogs.
ReplyDeleteO my god! is there anything cuter than a baby anything! I could eat her up!! and what a sweet name, Penelope, teehee.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, lots more adorable photos to come!

She is adorable. Kittens are just the best. Lovely pics and I love her name. Enjoy her kitten hood.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, she is just tooo cute. It is hard to believe my guys were once that tiny and even tinier since we raised them from 1 day old. I love looking back at my pics of them. They are getting a new to them kitty tree Friday, it will be interesting to see what they think since they have ignored the kitty scratcher since day 1. But they do love high places!!
ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely adorable! There is nothing cuter than a kitten. Penelope is a great name for a beautiful kitty.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness - Penelope is so cute! Have fun with her, xx
ReplyDeleteOh congratulations! I love the little white markings on her cheeks! She is cute now but she's going to be a beautiful cat!

ReplyDeleteShe's adorable! Kitties are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteVery cute kitty!!!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! We had 2 cats over the years, one for 18 years which is really a long time for a cat. They were real members of the family with their special characters. Be happy with the tiny girl!

What a sweetie! We've always been 'dog' people - never had cats. My daughter wanted a dog when she moved into her own home but it would have been unkind as she was working full-time, so she opted to adopt an older house-cat from a local rescue centre. Well, that scrap of fur has just about got ALL of us twisted around her paws! We are her obedient 'subjects', of course - and we must be thoroughly 'inspected' each time we visit! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying poking about your blog via the GYB 'hop' (KarenB recommended you, too!) - hope you enjoy looking around the other blogs!

Awwww! I miss my boys being kittens, now! I remember the flying leaps and blur as they ran by.
ReplyDeleteShe looks so sweet and I just want to play with those wee toes.
Give her a hug and a kiss on the noggin for me, please.
awwwwwwwwwwww .... glad my daughter is not looking over my shoulder as she would start pining for a kittie. How cute!! And bless you for picking her up from the shelter! You are a hero.
ReplyDeleteCute! Especially love the picture on the scale.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! She's sooo cute. Thanks for sharing the photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious baby! She is so lucky to have her home with you. We have so many feral cats in our area. Just breaks my heart that they don't have a nice, safe, warm home like all kitties should. Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteOMG my new baby Kitty Eleanor looks just like your Penelope...my girl is about 4 months, and we got her when she was 3 months from a local shelter.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to see her, there is a picture at the very end of the post at Christmas..
