My husband, daughter and I decided to start our new year off at one of our favorite places...the sea. We drove down to Cardiff (in San Diego County) for a walk along the beach. The temperature was wonderful and the sun peeked in and out from the clouds, constantly changing the colors and ocean scenes. Gorgeous!...
Salsa was diggin' it!...
And, enjoyed running on the wide open sand...it was a negative low tide that afternoon, giving us plenty of sand space to play...
The extra low tide provided new sights by uncovering these interesting formations and opening the tide pools...
The tide pools had fun things to discover. Check out this orange snail amongst sea anemones and various kinds of plants...
Mussels and Pollicipes (aka Goose Neck Barnacles)...
It was a wonderful way to start off the new year!
After our seaside stroll, we had dinner Los Olas in Carlsbad. It was delicious. We all had Mexican food with seafood in it. Yum! Hubby enjoyed an interesting and different kind of margarita...pineapple and chili. It tasted similar to a regular margarita but after swallowing you feel a slow and gentle burn. Fun!
During dinner we thought we had missed the sunset. It turned out that we only missed the beginning. I think we caught the very best part. We walked down the street and saw this...Wow!...
A great ending to a wonderful day! And, hopefully, a great beginning to a wonderful new year! :-)
